It's not always 'us vs them' - sometimes it is simply us

Be careful to constantly divide the greater collective. In most cases, there are strength in numbers.

My feelings for today's blog are of remembering that we are a collection of "us".

There is so much "us vs them" in today's society - lately it has been used as a weapon to separate us and pit us against one another - most often to divert our attention from everything that is going on.

We need to join forces on our similarities and once again revive the power of conversation and debate. We have succumbed to the ease of being a 'keyboard warrior' and spouting off something in a vacuum and walking away ... something that is usually said out of fear or anger. You lose the right to defend what you said and more importantly you erase the chance to have an intelligent conversation as well as the opportunity to look at a topic from multiple angles.

If we've learned nothing from this highly connected era we are in, it is that many people from around this grand world experience, live, think, and survive differently. There is no one right answer or edict to fulfill everyone's situation.

Now is the time to align, celebrate, and reinforce our similarities and strengths!
