Figuring out the "what" ...

After a few re-writes and some story points that just didn't feel like my characters, I decided how book one would play.

Tay and Third’s journey is all about discovering who you really are, and how that process can unfold in surprising ways. For Tay, it starts in those quiet, uncertain moments—questioning his identity and what that might mean. But with Third always by his side, cracking jokes and pushing him to open up, their friendship becomes a source of strength. Even though Third is still figuring things out for himself, he’s the one who ultimately gets Tay to admit that he’s attracted to boys, and that he has a crush on the new guy at school, Toby - who, at first, they’re both still wondering if he might be gay.

As they go through this journey together, it’s their shared moments of laughter, teasing, and those real heart-to-heart conversations that help them navigate everything. It’s not always smooth sailing, but those small victories, those moments when they take another step forward, are what shape their bond.

At the end of the day, this story isn’t just about discovering who you are—it’s about the kind of friendship that helps you face your fears, even when you don’t have all the answers. Tay and Third’s friendship shows that sometimes, the right person by your side can make all the difference, no matter how complicated things get.
